Final Crysis Model - Labs

Inspirations

I found the structure of the Sendai Mediatheque quite unique, as the entire building is supported mainly by large pipes, made up of smaller pipes. I incorporated this feature as large heavy objects to be supported by a single slender cuboidal pipe in the centre.
The balancing barn, by MVRDV is a cantilevered structure, which has something to counterbalance its weight. Similarly, in my model, there are hollow cuboids, which are supported only in the center, and the sides, are of equal dimensions, and hence counterbalance each other.
Piranesi's sketches are always interesting, especially his usage of the stairs. The stairs are placed in different directions, and connect everything, and this is what inspired my creation.

Developed Model

Newton was a mathematician, physicist, astronomer, and many other things, and Freud was a neurologist. Both their professions kept them mentally in motion, though they were completely different. Their meeting point (made possible with the help of stairs), would connect their worlds, and would have an equal impact on the both of them.

Materials used in the Model

These 4 designs were used for the partitions in Banksy's studio. The image I chose of Banksy's work, is a black and white painting of a man who looks rejected. There are flowers in his hand, and they have been painted in colour - red, yellow, blue and pink.

I used this for the partitions in David Malangi's studio.

The entrance to the gallery from David Malangi's studio has this design on it.

The design on the exterior stairs.

The design on the stairs which go up to Banksy's studio.

The material used for the soil.

I used this for the landscape, to show its greenery.
